Paragon Total Defrag 2009 is a program that performs low-level defragmentation. This kind of algorithm is more comprehensive than common methods since it can work with core ntfs components like MFT (Master File Table). Low-level defragmentation requires exculsive access to a drive and this is often achieved only through rebooting into a special mode, especially when you are defragmenting the system drive or partition, where read and write operations are performed all the time.

When the program reboots in this special mode please, do not try to turn off power or reset a computer. Such actions during the work of low-level algorithms can lead to unpredicted results.

The proper method to stop the program in this mode is by pressing ESC or Ctrl+C. Be patient and wait when the program will stop its engine – this can take several minutes.
