Backup capsule
If you don't have a local, network and/or it is inconvenient to store backup images onto external media (like DVDs/CDs or removable drives), then the backup images can be stored in a specially secured place on your hard disk, called the Backup Capsule.
To avoid accidental deletion or unauthorized access to the disk's backup images, the Backup Capsule is a hidden partition and thus cannot be mounted in the operating system. A single hard disk may contain only one backup capsule. However, the user can attach another hard disk with an existing backup capsule to the computer and restore from that as well without any problems.
You can browse the contents of the backup capsule by using special software. The system of wizards that is implemented into Drive Backup is designed to work with the Backup Capsule. Thus, by storing disk's backup images in the Backup Capsule you obtain a reliable level of data protection. For example, you could take a full snapshot (with compression) of the system partition at monthly intervals and schedule daily differential backups.
To achieve the highest level of backup images protection from unauthorized access, Drive Backup allows you to encrypt them and set a password.
